Lorraine Jewel Cutright Schoonover, 87, a resident of Mill Creek, passed from this life Saturday, May 24, 2025, at her home. She had been in her usual health and death was unexpected.
Lorraine was born Sunday, Jan. 2, 1938, in Mill Creek, a daughter of the Cecil Cutright and Marjorie Currence Cutright.
On July 7, 1977, in Huttonsville, she married Alston Glenn “Al” Schoonover, who preceded her in death on April 25, 2015.
Left to cherish Lorraine’s memory is one daughter, Patty Lambert and husband, George, of Mill Creek; one son, Allen Wilson of Belington; grandchildren, Johnny Lanham and wife, Melissa, of Mill Creek, Donna Lanham of Mill Creek, Brandi Hedrick and husband, Justin, of Red Rock, Mandi Coger and husband, TJ, of Elkins, and Randi Morgan and wife, Jessica, of Elkins, great- grandchildren, Kristen Lanham, Caydence Shifflett, Alyssa Sutton, Kayleigh Hedrick, Baylee Morgan and Gabriel Morgan; great-great-grandchildren, Arianna Cassell, Everly Lambert, Hunter Cassell and Kason Sutton; two step-grandchildren, Tim Cogar and Phil Cogar; siblings, Gary Cutright and wife, Sadie, and Cletus Cutright and wife, Ruth, all of Mill Creek, several nieces and nephews; and two special friends, James and Mary Trickett.
Preceding Lorraine in death besides her parents and husband was one daughter, Peggy Morgan; one step-son, Robert Schoonover; four sisters, Evelyn Cutright, Deloris Vance, Gladys Pritt and Beatrice White; two brothers, Hartford Cutright and Denny Cutright Sr.; one special niece, Sherry Vance; one great-granddaughter, Christine Wilson; and one great-grandson, Coalton Cassell.
Lorraine attended the schools of Randolph County. She had worked for Reidboard Brothers from which she retired with 50 years of service. She enjoyed planting her flowers and gardening, visiting with friends and family and shopping at Wal-Mart. She loved her family and spending time with them, including picnics where they would all get together.
Visitation will be held at Randolph Funeral Home on Thursday, May 29, 2025, from noon until 1 p.m., the funeral hour.
Interment will follow in Elkins Memorial Gardens on Country Club Road in Elkins.
