Goldie Jean Thrasher Evans

Goldie Jean Thrasher Evans, 84, a lifelong resident of Tucker County, West Virginia, and more recently a resident of Cumberland, Maryland, departed this life early Sunday morning, June 22, 2025, at the Cumberland Healthcare Center in Cumberland, Maryland. She had been in declining health.

She was born Monday, June 2, 1941, at Cumberland, Maryland, a daughter of the late Wilber “Webb” Thrasher and Mildred Marie Auvil Thrasher.

On March 13, 1998, at Oakland, Maryland, she was married to Clinton Roy Evans, who preceded her in death.

Surviving are one daughter, Ellen Marie Johnson and husband, David, of Benbush; and three grandchildren, Ross Payton Johnson of Elkins, Brenna Perriero and husband, Derek, of Maysville, and David Johnson of Benbush; two great-grandchildren, Piper and Maddison; and nephew, Roy Gray and wife, Sharon, of Cumberland, Maryland.

Preceding her in death are one son, David Lee Hull; one brother, Wilber Thrasher; and her twin sister, Sylvia Gray.

She was a homemaker and a Methodist by faith. She loved to listen to country music.

The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Thursday, June 26, 2025, from 10 a.m. to noon.

Final rites will be conducted from the funeral home on Thursday at noon. Pastor Donna Bolinger will officiate and interment will follow at the Shaffertown Cemetery at Leadmine Road, St. George, West Virginia.
