CURRENCE

Kimberly Michelle “Kim” Reed Sutherland Currence, 61, a resident of Beverly, passed from this life Sunday, June 15, 2025, in her home. Although she had been battling cancer, death was unexpected.

Kim was born Tuesday, Sept. 10, 1963, in Elkins, a daughter of the late Arnold Sutherland and Kathryn “Katie” Foy Weese. She was married to Jacob Currence, who survives in Beverly.

Also left to cherish Kim’s memory are two sons, Douglas Simmons and Michael Simmons, both of Elkins; one daughter, Cassy Scott and husband, Bud, of Beverly, two step-sons, Jacob Currence Jr. of Elkins and Ben Currence of Dailey; six grandchildren, Jamie Simmons, Audrey Simmons, Cadence Wilt, Chloe Wilt, Colbie Scott and Camden Scott; six siblings, Kathy Corley, Don Reed, Ronald “Joey” Reed and companion, Elaine Stahl, Steve Reed, Chel Weese and Rusty Weese; and several niece and nephews.

Preceding Kim in death besides her parents is one sister, Cindy Close; one sister-in-law, Virgie Pritt-Reed; two nieces, Katrina Corley and Anissa Jenkins-Wills; one great-nephew, Hunter Underwood; and her paternal maternal grandparents, Audrey C. and Roy C. Foy.

Kim attended the schools of Randolph County and had worked as a cashier at Bobbie’s Citgo. She enjoyed her work with the public meeting new people and talking with local community members. She also enjoyed watching crime scene movies, and her favorite color was orange. She loved her family and adored her grandkids.

Kim’s request for cremation will be honored. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.

The Randolph Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements for Kimberly Michelle “Kim” Reed Sutherland Currence.
