WARNER
Stephen R. Warner, 72, a resident of Valley Bend, passed away Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
He was born Nov. 10, 1952, at Blue Grass, Virginia, a son of the late Emory J. Warner and Tena Judy Warner.
Stephen was never married.
He is survived by four brothers, Emory “Buddy” Warner of Greenbank, West Virginia, Harlan Ray Warner of Beverly, Kenneth Warner of Elkins and Eugene Warner of Beverly; and two sisters, Linda Cross and Kitty Ball, both of Elkins.
Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Also preceding him in death were three brothers, Bardon Warner, Roy “Butch” Warner and Richard Warner; two sisters, Ina “Betsy” Pitsenbarger and Mary “Maggie” Tenney; a half-sister, Marie Cobb; two nephews, James Pitsenberger and Kennison Thompson; and a special friend, Eulah Yokum, whom he sang with for many years.
Stephen was a graduate of Elkins High School and retired from Grimes Enterprises, where he was a safety coordinator and dispatcher. He enjoyed playing basketball, his guitar and singing gospel music. He loved to attend bible study at Hart Chapel Church and taught bible study at the church. Stephen had traveled to Haiti on a missionary trip and was a member of the Arbor Church at Beverly.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., Friday, June 27, 2025, at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, June 27, from the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Tristan Tenney officiating.
Interment will follow at the Mountain State Memorial Garden near Gilman.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Arbor Church, 73 Mount Vernon Road, Beverly, WV 26253 in memory of Stephen.
