Phyllis Sue Rider Collett

Phyllis Sue Rider Collett, 66, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and friends on July 23, 2025.

She was born on Oct. 20,1958, to Philip and Emma Rider. She is survived by her loving husband, Dennis Collett, of Junior West Virginia.

Phyllis had two daughters, Angela Daniels and husband, Darian Daniels, of Beverly, and Sabrina Tacy and husband, Hunter Tacy, of Junior. She had a stepdaughter that she loved as her own, Lisa Dale and her companion, Shawn Dvorak, of Arkansas. She also had a beloved cat, Billy Bob.

She had seven grandchildren that brought much joy to her life. She loved when they would sit in her chair to read, color with her, or just get some grandma love. They are Lauren and Katie Ray, Bella Daniels, Ryan Dale, Brayden and Bentley Simmons and Robert Lloyd. She had several nieces and nephews that she loved and help raise as if they were her own. They include Tiffany Witek, Kayla and Ryan Mitchell, Susanne Donegia, Rachel Watson, Philip and Jonah Wilfong, Amanda Newlon, Jennifer Rockwell, Melissa McCauley and several nieces and nephews in Arkansas on her husband’s side of the family.

Phyllis was the third child of Emma and Phil Rider. Brothers include Philip and wife, Diane Ryder, Richard Ryder, who passed in 2014, and Stanley Rider, who passed in 1968. Her sisters include Teresa and husband, Keith Harris, of Weaver, and Melissa and husband, Terry Wilfong, of Red House.

Phyllis was a homemaker. She enjoyed going to yard sales, thrift store shopping, reading, working crossword puzzles, eating anything chocolate, drinking coffee day and night, the color purple and giving her husband a hard time (this part came from him).

She enjoyed visiting with and her special friendship she had with her cousin and best friend, Cheryl Myers, and another best friend, Anna McElwain.

Phyllis will be greatly missed, but we can celebrate that she is no longer in pain and at peace.

Friends will be received at the Talbott Funeral Home 56 N.
