Robert Lee Wegman

WEGMAN
Robert Lee Wegman, 68, of Frank, went home to be with Jesus Sunday, the 20th of July, 2025. Born in Valley Bend, West Virginia, on Aug. 20, 1956, the son of the late Charles and Lela Markley Wegman. In 1976, he married the former Debbie Rexrode, who survives.
Nicknamed “Smiley,” because he always had a smile on his face, a stick of gum in his pocket, and a prayer for love in his heart. Robert attended the schools of Randolph County and was a cherished friend and employee at Judy Fencecraft for 30 years. Robert attended the Thornwood community church where he was teaching his love of god to the children in the Sunday school classes.
He had recently stepped away from church to care for his wife who had became physically unable to care for herself. Robert had an infectious laugh, a brilliant spirit, and a compassionate heart that captivated everyone that had the honor of meeting him.
Robert was preceded in death by five brothers, Junior, Jim, Bill, Franklin and Phillip Wegman; and two sisters, Ettie Grey, and Edith Byrd
Surviving are three brothers, John and wife, Sandy, Wegman, Stanley Wegman and partner, Pam Howard, and Rex and wife, Sonya Wegman; and one sister, Mary Miller and Partner Tom Jones. Many nieces and nephews, cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews will always cherish the “by golys” or “yes sirs” and laughter that always came. The smile that took away every bad thing, if but for a fraction of time! Above all else, Uncle Robert was a man of faith. He stood loyal to his vows to God and mankind.
Romans 8:18 “for I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed to us later.”
