Gregory W. ‘Greg’ White

Gregory W. “Greg” White, 55, a resident of Harman, West Virginia, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2025, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia, following a sudden illness.
He was born Aug. 18, 1969, in Elkins, a son of Ellen VanDevender White of Harman and the late Troy C. White.
Also surviving is his partner of 18 years, Danica Cooper of Harman; two daughters, Abigail White at home and Alexis Markley of Coalton; one brother, Darryl White and Jordan Price of Elkins.
Also surviving are one granddaughter, Racelynn Waugaman; one niece, Leah White; and one nephew, Kameron White.
In addition to his father, he is also preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Jacob Lee and Geraldine K. VanDevender; paternal grandparents, John C. and Bertha G. White; and infant brother, Rick White.
Greg was a graduate of Harman High School and studied criminal justice for one year at Davis & Elkins College. He was a Security Guard at Timberline Homeowners Association, Inc. and was owner of AA Design. He was a 25-year member of the Harman Volunteer Fire Department, where he was also Assistant Fire Chief. He was a member of the Dolly Sods Search and Rescue Team and was President of the PTSO at Harman School. Greg was very talented, could design or build anything and was an avid Steelers Football fan. He was a protestant by faith.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., Monday, Aug. 11, 2025, at the Dry Fork Assembly of God Church.
A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m., Monday, Aug. 11, from the church, with Pastor Justin Murray officiating.
Greg’s request for cremation will be honored.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Harman Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 125, Harman, WV 26270 in memory of Greg.
