Rebecca June ‘Becky’ Collins

Rebecca June “Becky” Collins, 74, a resident of Elkins, passed away Friday, Aug. 1, 2025 at her home.

She was born May 1, 1951, at Martinsburg, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Robert Mason and the late June Reynolds Mason.

On April 14, 1974, at Lexington, Kentucky, she married David Collins, who survives in Elkins.

Also surviving are one daughter, Rachel McCart of Puyallup, Washington; and two “adopted” daughters, Holly Collins of Elkins and Cindy Arbogast of Mill Creek.

Ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren also survive.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Danny Collins and Gabe Collins; and one brother Bob Mason.

Becky held a Masters Degree in Education and a Bachelor’s Degree in Christian Theology. She taught school in Kentucky and was a teacher in the Randolph County Schools for 30 years prior to becoming disabled. She was honored as Teacher of the Year in Randolph County. Becky was an active member of the Crystal Springs Community Church, was an avid reader, pianist and a published poet. She enjoyed singing with her family.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 7, 2025, at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Aug. 8, from the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Bobby Lambert officiating.

Interment will follow in the Mountain State Memorial Gardens near Gilman.
