Carla Jane Combs

She was born on Sept. 26, 1948, in Mabie, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Ruby Jane (Watson) and Ronald Ray George Sr.

Carla married Scott Arthur Combs, who survives in Brandywine.

Carla attended Coalton High School and received her GED from Pendleton County High School. She was a member of Redeeming Grace Church in Brandywine and had worked at Wampler Food and she retired from Graham Packaging. Carla loved her family and her grandchildren had a special place in her heart.

In addition to her husband, Carla leaves behind to cherish her memory, two sons, William Joseph Reilly and Dennis Lee Reilly, both of Brandywine; a sister, Linda Ryan of Franklin, West Virginia; two brothers, James George (Ruby) of Mill Creek, West Virginia, and Ronnie George of Mabie, West Virginia; two grandchildren, Katie (Eric) and Holly (Chris); and nine great-grandchildren, Madison, Emma, Caleb, Evan, Jacob, Hayley, Lilly, Levi and Layla.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Victor George; and a sister, Sandra Helmick.

Carla’s family will receive friends on Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2025, from 5-7 p.m. at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin, West Virginia.

Funeral services will be on Thursday, Sept. 18, 2025, at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin, West Virginia, with Pastor Jason Boggs officiating.

Interment will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Brandywine.
