Charlotte Louise Mace McDonald

MCDONALD
Charlotte Louise Mace McDonald, 82, a long-time resident of Junior, West Virginia, passed away Wednesday evening, Sept. 24, 2025, at Autumn Lake Healthcare at Crystal Springs. Death was following a period of declining health.
She was born Sunday, Nov. 15, 1942, at Junior, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Ralph Richard Mace Sr. and Beatrice Louise “Bea” Edmond Mace.
On Saturday, Jan. 27, 1962, she was united in marriage to her high-school sweetheart, Bennie J. McDonald, who survives in Junior. They had celebrated 63 years of marriage and were “like two peas in a pod”, as they always said to each other.
Left to cherish her memory is one son, Jon Richard McDonald and wife, Rosemary, of Elkins; and one daughter, Deborah Ann Louise McDonald Lambert, and husband, Gary of Elkins.
She was blessed with three grandchildren, Melanie Dawn McDonald, Jacob Daniel Lambert and Jessica Elizabeth Lambert and fiance, Carsten; and a great-grandchild on the way; one step-granddaughter, Heather Kyle Comer and husband, Trevor; one step-great-grandson, Silas Comer; and a whole host of family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, DeLora Ann “DeDe” Mace Smith; and one brother, Ralph Richard “Richie” Mace Jr.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Charlotte was a graduate of the Belington High School with the class of 1960. She was the first chair trumpet player in the band. She was a homemaker and a volunteer of the Junior Improvement Committee, where she served as President and was very proud of the many accomplishments the committee completed.
In her spare time, Charlotte enjoyed listening to music, especially gospel music, watching westerns and religious shows on TV, going to yard sales and thrift stores, and most of all spending time with family. She was an excellent cook, a wonderful wife and a loving mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
As per Charlotte’s request, a graveside service will be conducted, with close friends and family attending, at the Trinity Cemetery near Junior on Sunday, Sept. 28, 2025, at 1:30 p.m., with the Pastor Johnny Paul Williams officiating.
Interment will then follow.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Junior Volunteer Fire Department P.O. Box 307 Junior, WV 26275.
