Dotty Lou Ann (nee Edmond) Koon, 85, passed away on Friday, Sept. 19, 2025. She was born on Dec. 12, 1939, in Norton, West Virginia, to her loving parents, Merle and Tola (nee Roy) Edmond.
She is survived by her four sons, Ray II (Charlotte) of Elyria, William of Amherst, Steve (Pat) of Lorain, and Stacy of Amherst; six grandchildren, Alisha, Christina, Brock, William, Avery and Heidi; nine great grandchildren, Ashley, Howard, Thomas, Hunter, Vanessa, Emily, Logan, Mackenzy and Daymian; and three great-great-grandchildren, Mackenly, Harley and Valentina.
Dotty was the last survivor of her immediate family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years of marriage, Ray Koon; father, Merle Edmond; mother, Tola (Doyle) Poling; five brothers, Edgar “Teddy”, Paul, William, Charles, and Doyle Junior; and one sister, Betty Jean.
The family will receive friends at Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home, 2150 Broadway, Lorain, OH, on Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2025, from 3-7p.m. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. Christian burial services will be held at noon on Thursday at Resthaven Memory Gardens, 3700 Center Rd, Avon, OH 44011.
