Nancy Ellen Arbogast Nestor
NESTOR
Nancy Ellen Arbogast Nestor, 79, of Lost Creek, after a brief illness passed away surrounded by family early Saturday morning, Sept. 6, 2025.
She was born on Sunday, April 28, 1946, to Gertie Teter Arbogast of Job, West Virginia, and Henry Clay Arbogast of Whitmer, West Virginia.
Nancy was an honors graduate of Parsons High School, class of 1964. During her sophomore year of high school she met her sailor, David Carl Nestor. A Parsons High School graduate of 1960, David was stationed aboard the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise CVN65 in Norfolk, Virginia.
Nancy and David were married at the Parsons United Methodist Church in Parsons, West Virginia, on Dec. 28, 1963.
Upon moving back to West Virginia, Nancy was an active member in her community of Lost Creek and the greater area. She was an avid bowler who played in various leagues in Clarksburg, and attended the State Bowling Tournament each year for over 40 years.
Nancy was an active participant with the International Order of Oddfellows and Rebekahs, holding many local offices during her more than 45 years of service.
She was a writer of poetry and has left behind notebooks full of her beautiful words. Nancy was also an avid reader with thousands of books gracing their home.
She was an artist — having dozens of her paintings hanging on the family home’s walls. Nancy had no desire to ever sell any of her works, which are professional quality. She just did it for the enjoyment of the process.
She also enjoyed playing the piano and often would be accompanied by one of her miniature dachshunds, “Missy.”
Nancy was employed at Louie Glass company, in Weston. She worked there 22 years in the “cutting” shop where her work ethic and artistic abilities shone. Nancy never complained about the hours or conditions as she loved the work and the comradery of her co-workers.
She enjoyed her animals from “Ginger to Spike.” Any and every breed of dog would become a household member, along with a few kitty cats through the years.
Nancy is survived by her husband of 62 years, David C. Nestor of Lost Creek; her two sons, David Jr. of Lost Creek and Daniel Sr. (Shelby) of Winchester, Virgina. She is survived by her two grandchildren, Alicia Nestor Cale of Box Elder, South Dakota, and Daniel Lee Nestor Jr. of Winchester, Virginia. She is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Silas and Rosalie.
Nancy was preceded in death by three brothers, Willie, Albert and Clarence; and two sisters, Marie and Helen. She is survived by four brothers, Darl (Marilyn) of Atlanta, Georgia, Ray (Becky) of Pheasant Run, West Virginia, Harold (Lois) of Parsons, West Virginia, and Denver (Debbie) of Elkins, West Virginia.
