Beverly Jean Reed Talbott

Beverly Jean Reed Talbott, 73, a resident of Valley Bend, West Virginia, departed this life Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 14, 2025, at the Ruby Memorial Hospital Hospice Floor at Morgantown, West Virginia, with her loving husband by her side..

She was born Thursday, March 13, 1952, at Elkins, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Clyde Reed and Betty Jean Smith Reed.

On Saturday, Sept. 11, 1976, she was married to Gary Robert White, who preceded her in death Saturday, Dec. 25, 2004.

On Saturday, Sept. 15, 2018, she was married to William “Willie” Talbott, who survives at Valley Bend.

Also surviving are two sons, Jerid Barkley and wife, Amy, of Hurricane, and their children, Aaron Barkley and Kate (Siders) Barkley, Darin Barkley of Hurricane and his children, Tabitha Barkley and Sabrina Barkley; one daughter, Angie Reed and husband, Chris, of Ashland, Kentucky, and their children, Matthew Bailey, Michael Bailey, Nevaeh Reed and Gavin “BamBam” Reed; two great-grandchildren, Anthony Starkey and Marylyn Starkey; one stepson, Aaron Talbott and wife, Ruthann, of Elkins, and their children, Clare, Eliott, Anna, Leo, Lucy and Sebastian; one brother, Bradley Allen Reed and fiance, Toni Myers, of Elkins; two sisters, Debra Lynn Conrad and husband, Doug, of Elkins, and Julia Ann Slaughter and husband, Marty, of Severn, Maryland.

She attended Harman High School, owned Braxton Bible Bookstore in Gassaway, worked at Johns Department Store in Gassaway and Fresenius Kidney Care in Charleston.

Beverly received her medical assistant degree from Corinthians College in Cross Lanes, West Virginia. She enjoyed riding motorcycles with the husband, Willie, and liked deer hunting. She loved the holidays and planning parties. Beverly enjoyed baking cakes and cooking with all her grandchildren. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Beverly loved her dog, Pippin.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Ruby Memorial Hospital and her close friends who spent their time with her in her final days.

Beverly’s request for cremation was honored.

The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 18, 2025.
