Herman ‘Gail’ Weese

Herman “Gail” Weese, 91, a resident of Valley Bend, passed from this life Thursday, Oct. 23, 2025, at home.
Gail was born Sunday, Sept. 30, 1934, in Elkins, a son of the late Stewart Weese and Ila Geraldine Daniels Weese.
On June 20, 1959, he married the former Dorothy I. Ware, who preceded him in death on Jan. 30, 2022.
Left to cherish Gail’s memory are five children, Kathy Weese, Greg Weese and wife, Dawn, Chris Weese and wife, Becky, all of Beverly, Randy Weese of Valley Bend, and Jeff Weese and wife, Kristie, of Huttonsville; grandchildren, Chelsea Riley and husband, Kyle, Cory Weese and wife, Chelsea, Megan Weese, Brennon Weese, Teaghan Weese, Lynnlee Brown and husband, Gary, and Paige Campbell and husband, Coty; siblings, Willard Joe Weese and wife, Christy, of Junior, Carroll Lee Weese of Florida, Rebecca Hall of Elkins and Dennis Weese and wife, Patti, of Elkins; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Preceding him in death besides his parents were four siblings, Clifford Weese, Norman D. Weese, Barbara E. Dierickx and Zetha Kaye Fluharty.
Gail attended the schools of Randolph County and then served his country in the United States Army. During his career, he worked for a courier service delivering paychecks, drove a log truck, and was a heavy equipment operator maintaining roads for various coal mines. Gail was a founding member of the Tygart Valley and Beverly Volunteer Fire Departments. He proudly served in the volunteer fire department for 40-plus years. Gail loved camping and hunting. He was extremely fond of his time as a campground host at Lake Sherwood in Greenbrier County. He was Methodist by faith.
Visitation will be held at the Randolph Funeral Home Thursday, Oct. 30, 2025, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., the funeral hour.
Pastor Leon Brown will officiate and interment will follow in Mountain State Memorial Gardens in Gilman.
