Janet Dayle Lytle
Janet Dayle Lytle, 81, a resident of Elkins, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2025, at the Elkins Rehabilitation and Care Center in Elkins.
She was born, Jan. 11, 1944, in Elkins, a daughter of the late Bruce H. White and the late Dorothy Kerr White.
On March 10, 1965, she was married to George E. Lytle, who preceded her in death Oct. 11, 1988.
Surviving is one daughter, Carlene Lytle of Elkins; and one half-sister, Margaret Petrice Sumpter of San Antonio, Texas.
Also preceding her in death were one son, Gary Lytle; brothers, Johnny, Donald, Bill, Tommy, Sherwood and Jack; and a sister, Sharon Kerns.
Janet was raised by Coleman and Ruth Fansler, who cared for her as their own. She attended the schools of Elkins and was a graduate of Elkins High School in the Class of 1963.
Janet was employed for many years as a secretary and caregiver. She was also employed at the Kroger deli in Elkins. She was an active member of the Wayside United Methodist Church where she formerly taught Sunday school and sang in the church choir.
She was a member of the United Methodist Women of the church. She was a member of the 4-H on the county and state level; a former member of the Chenoweth Creek CEOS, Democratic Women of Randolph County, a football and soccer mom and active with the EHS Athletic Boosters.
Janet enjoyed gardening, Canning, cooking and her flowers she grew. She was a kind person to all. Janet’s request for cremation was granted and a service of remembrance will be announced at a later date.
