John ‘Johnny’ Walter Hovatter and Frances ‘Francie’ Irene Close Hovatter

They had celebrated 66 years of marriage before Johnny passed on June 30, 2022, at the age of 89.

On Monday, Oct. 6, 2025, at the age of 92, Francie was reunited with Johnny.

On Saturday, Nov. 1, 2025, at 1 p.m., a memorial service will be held at Parsons City Cemetery, and their cremated remains will be laid to rest.

Full military honors will be conducted in honor of Johnny’s service by members of H.W. Daniels Post 29, American Legion, Tygarts Valley Post 3647, Veterans of Foreign Wars, the WV Honor Guard and Tucker County Veterans Association.

The Hostetler Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements for John “Johnny” Walter Hovatter and Frances “Francie” Irene Close Hovatter.
