Juanita R. Welch

She was born Aug. 21, 1938, at Cassity, West Virginia, in Randolph County, a daughter of the late Sherl and Donis Cesero Poling.

She was married to Robert L. Welch, who preceded her in death.

She is survived by one daughter, Liz Currence of Elkins; and two sons, Robert L. and Susan Welch of Martinsburg, West Virginia, and John and Vicki Welch of Norton; three sisters, Mildred Short of Camden on Gauley, West Virginia, Mrs. Elmer Mallow (Carolene) of Elkins and Mrs. Bob Swecker (Shirley) of Weaver, West Virginia; one brother, Carol Poling and wife, Louise, of Norton; and one son-in-law, Roger Edmond of Norton.

She is also survived by eight grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great-granddaughter, all of whom she loved dearly.

Also preceding her in death were one daughter, Carol Ann Edmond; and three grandsons, Charles Edmond, Trevor Welch and Eric Brady Sturdivant.

Juanita loved one of her nurses as her own, and two aids which were dear to her over the years residing at Elkins Rehabilitation & Care Center. She will be sadly missed. She was filled with love for all and brought joy to everyone who knew her.

Friends may call from noon until 1 p.m., Friday, Oct. 31, 2025, at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, from the funeral home chapel, with Pastor John Welch officiating.

Interment will follow in the Brick Church Cemetery near Huttonsville.
