Louise Dora Bell Higgins

Louise Dora Bell Higgins, 91, a resident of Montrose, passed away Sunday, Oct. 26, 2025 at her home. She was in her usual health and death was unexpected.
She was born Nov. 21, 1933, in Pendleton County, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Martin Boston Bell and Nela Mallow Bell. On July 5, 1956 at Elkins, she was married to Cletis “John” Higgins, who preceded her in death Oct. 18, 1990.
She is survived by one brother, Don Bell of Montrose; and two sisters, Mamion Day of Louisville, Ohio, and Joy Day of Elkins.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is also preceded in death by one son, Stevie Bell; four brothers, Delano, Michael, Ivan and Jack Bell; and four sisters, Wanda Wegman, Neva Riley, Lettie See and Nila Phillips.
Louise was a graduate of Elkins High School and was employed at the Tygart Valley Bank in Elkins and retired from Bethlehem Steel where she worked as a miner.
She was a member of the Rivers of Living Water Church.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until noon Thursday, Oct. 30, 2025, at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A funeral service will be held at noon Thursday from the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in the Bell Cemetery at Kelly Mountain.
