Mr. Ron Dean Silcox, 59, a resident of Belington, West Virginia, departed this life Thursday evening, Oct. 16, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on Tuesday, Nov. 9, 1965, at Harford, Maryland, a son of the late Harrison W. and Sybil (Spears) Cardwell. His adopted parents were the late Victor R. and Belma (Spears) Silcox.
On Sept. 2, 1989, he was united in marriage to the former Pamela L. “Pam” Armstrong, who survives at their home in Belington.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Ronnie Silcox Jr. of Belington and Amber Weaver and husband, Jeffrey Weaver Jr., of Philippi.
Also surviving are four sisters, Edna Armstrong and husband, James, of Belington, Linda Shoemaker of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Sandra Deal of Tucson, Arizona, and Melissa Blue, also of Tucson, Arizona; and two brothers, Michael Cardwell and wife, Michelle, and Bill Cardwell, both of Tucson, Arizona.
Additional survivors include six grandchildren, Jaylee Skidmore, Taylynn and Tristan Knotts, and Harrison, Sofia and Tinley Silcox; and three step-grandchildren, Caitlin, Taylor and Austin Weaver.
He is also survived by his special friends, Michael Talbott, Mark and Tammy Ryan, Travis Ryan and Scott “Bubba” Wetmore, all of Belington; and his K-9 companion Milo.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Brenda Bennett; and one brother, Pete Cardwell.
Ron attended the public schools of Arizona and was a protestant by faith. He formerly was employed by the Franklin Dairy Farm in Virginia and David Judy Lumber Company in Belington. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and he loved spending time with his children, grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Friends will be received from the Talbott Funeral Home, 56 N. Brandenburg Street in Belington, on Sunday, Oct. 19, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the funeral hour, when final rites will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with the Pastor David Shelton officiating.
Cremation will follow the services.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Animal Friends of Barbour County (PO Box 452 Philippi, WV 26416.)
