Virginia Faye Phillips Shahan
SHAHAN
Mrs. Virginia Faye Phillips Shahan, 85, a resident of Philippi, West Virginia, departed this life Saturday evening Nov. 8, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family. Death was following a period of declining health.
She was born May 10, 1940 at Meadowville, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Leslie Coleman and Ruth Sturms Phillips. On May 15, 1965, at Deer Park, Maryland, she was united in marriage to Clifford Sherwood Shahan, who survives at their home in Philippi.
Left to cherish her memory are a daughter, Autumn Queen and companion, John Lovette, of Caldwell, Ohio; one sister, Mildred Phillips of Philippi; and a son-in-law, Kevin Queen of Philippi. Additional survivors include two grandchildren, Baylee Queen and companion, Jared Lonas, of Philippi and Colby Queen and companion, Katelyn Fortney, of Philippi,; and her feline companion, Oreo.
Virginia attended the schools of Barbour County and was a homemaker. She formerly attended Central Chapel Church and enjoyed reading, crocheting and solving jigsaw puzzles. She loved her family very much and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Friends will be received at the Talbott Funeral Home 56 N. Brandenburg Street in Belington on Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2025, from 6-9 p.m. and again on Thursday Nov. 13, 2025, from 8-11 a.m. the funeral hour when final rites will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with Lay Speaker Burl Haddix officiating. Interment will then follow in the Central Chapel Cemetery near Belington.
