Betty Jo Patton, 91, a resident of Elkins, passed away Friday evening, Dec. 26, 2025, at Mountain Memories Assisted Living & Retirement Center.
She was born Dec. 31, 1933, at Fairmont, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Dorsey Thomas and the late Opal Robinson Thomas.
On Feb. 18, 1956, at Fairmont, West Virginia, she married James W. Patton, who preceded her in death Jan. 8, 2002.
Surviving are two daughters, Cheryl Ann Bartlett and husband, Rex, of Jane Lew, West Virginia, and Debra Jo Marchesani of North Palm Beach, Florida.
A sister, Lois Ann Hall of Barrackville, West Virginia; four grandchildren, Amanda Hundley and husband, Travis, Christopher Marchesani and wife, Ashlyn, Hannah Marchesani, and Chad Bartlett and wife, Stacey; and four great-grandchildren, Remi Jo, Allie Jo, Reed and Mya also survive.
Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews and special lifetime friend, Randy Tucker.
Also preceding her in death were two brothers, Donald Thomas and Danny Thomas; and son-in-law, Robert Marchesani.
Betty was a homemaker and a golfer and member of the Elks Country Club Women's Golf Association. She volunteered over 9,000 hours for the Davis Memorial Hospital auxiliary.
Betty was an avid West Virginia Mountaineer and Pittsburgh Steeler fan.
Betty was a member of the Golf Street Church of Christ.
The family would like to thank the staff of Mountain Memories and W.V. Caring Hospice for the excellent care provided to Betty.
Friends may call from noon until 2 p.m., Monday, Jan. 5, 2026, at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, from the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Albert Brown officiating.
Interment will follow in the Mountain State Memorial Gardens near Gilman.
