Deborah Kay Anderson, 60, of Philippi, West Virginia, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 30, 2025, at United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, West Virginia.

She was born on Feb. 7, 1965, in Canton, Ohio, a daughter of Delmer “Bill” Stemple, who preceded her in death, and Rebecca Ann (Budick) Stemple, who survives.

Deborah is survived by her loving companion of 21 years, Rick Hathaway; her mother, Rebecca Ann Stemple; her sister, Kimberly Stemple; stepdaughter Trista Dalton and husband, TJ; and her cherished grandchildren, Rickie Hathaway, Rodney Hathaway, Shaylee Hathaway, Hayden Dalton and Jase Dalton and Quentin Hathaway.

She is also survived by her nephew, Tyler Walker, and his wife, Jessica, and their children, her great-nephew and great-niece, Anson Walker and Leighton Walker.

Additional surviving family includes her aunts, Nellie Fitzwater and companion, Joe, and Linda Holbert and husband, Eddie.

She was preceded in death by aunts, Juanita Dvorovy and Penny Shrewsberry; and uncle, Charles “Bud” Wilson.

Deborah lived a life full of energy, kindness, and generosity. She enjoyed traveling with “the girls,” riding her motorcycle with Rick, making crafts, and spending time with her grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life. She cared deeply for the environment and worked for HDRF, always encouraged by efforts to keep her community clean.

She worked for Foster Wheeler, traveling across the United States and serving at various power plants. Known for her strong work ethic and giving heart, Deborah was always willing to volunteer her time to help others.

Family and friends will gather at Wright Funeral Home, 220 N. Walnut St., Philippi, on Wednesday, Dec. 3, from 4-8 p.m., and on Thursday, Dec. 4, from 8 a.m.-noon.

Funeral services will follow at noon, with Pastor Howard Swick officiating.

Interment will take place at Clemtown Cemetery.
