Jonathan W. Senic

SENIC

Jonathan W. Senic, 76, of Alpena, West Virginia, passed away at his home on Monday, Dec. 1, 2025.

Born April 27, 1949 in Elkins, he was the son of the late George and Helen Knuti Senic. Jon spent his life rooted in the mountains he loved.

He worked for LaRosa Fuel earlier in his career before beginning a long and meaningful chapter with Roy’s RV, where he served as a salesman for more than 20 years. He took great pride in his work and was known for being dependable, loyal and someone who would always jump in to help anyone who really needed it.

Jon was a devoted father and grandfather, and nothing meant more to him than his children and grandkids. He loved spending weekends at the racetrack — always there to watch his son, Tim, race while his son, Mike, worked on the car.

He also enjoyed cheering on his grandchildren at their sporting events and activities.

Some of his favorite moments were the quiet evenings at home with a grandchild on his lap, watching TV and simply enjoying their company. He always loved the outdoors–hunting, fishing, and being in the woods–even when it became harder for him to get out as often as he wished.

Jon is survived by two sons, Tim Senic and wife, Susan, and Jonathan Michael Senic, all of Elkins; three daughters, Cherri Geaschel and husband, Jim, of Rockford, Illinois, L, Laura Senic and husband, L.J. Gravelle, of Falling Waters, West Virginia, and Heidi Heine of St. Louis, Missouri.

He is also survived by one brother, Dave Senic and wife, Sue of Alpena; nephew, Shane Senic; niece Angie Senic Shockley; and grandchildren Maverick Senic-Gravelle, Mila Senic-Gravelle, Mabel Senic-Gravelle, Rachel and Jordan Senic, Michael and Daniel Geaschel, Jessica, Nicolas, and Amanda Heine — each of whom he loved deeply.

Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 5, 2025, at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2025, in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Leon Brown officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Randolph County Homeless Shelter, 938 South Davis Avenue, Elkins, WV 26241, in Jon’s memory.

The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is entrusted with the arrangements for Jonathan W. Senic.
