Kathy Lynn Barrick Kelley, 62, a resident of Elkins, passed away peacefully at her home Monday, Dec. 8, 2025, with her family by her side and under the care of Mountain Hospice.
She was born, June 16, 1963, at Frankfurt, Germany, a daughter of the late Phillip R. Barrick and Naomi Bennett Barrick.
Kathy was a woman of incredible strength, resilience and unwavering dedication. She had a “never quit” approach that inspired everyone who knew her. She had a strong work ethic all of her life and a heart of gold that left a profound impact on everyone who knew her. Outside of her work life, Kathy’s greatest passions were her family and gardening. She found her greatest joy in spending time with her grandkids who she loved dearly.
Aside from spending time with her family, and planting flowers, she also enjoyed trips to the beach.
She is survived by one son, Jeff Manolidis and wife, Laura, of Elkins; two daughters, Chasity Kelley and significant other, Kyle, of Elkins and Alyson James and significant other, Wesley, of Elkins.
Two brothers, Phillip Barrick and wife, Anita, of Kerens and Ralph Barrick and wife, Tara, of Houston, Texas; eight grandchildren, Bryce and Gauge Manolidis, Jordan Phillips, Chase, Miciah and Ethan Kelley, Conner and Brooklynn James; four nieces, Noel Kestner and significant other of Kingsport, Tennessee, Shelby Barrick of Orlando, Florida, and Kirstie Remels and husband, Nic, of Houston, Texas, and Paige Richards and husband, Anthony, of Parkersburg, West Virginia, also survive.
Also preceding her in death were one sister, Diane Barrick; and half-sister, Susan Barrick.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., Friday, Dec. 12, 2025, at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, from the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Ann Fretwell officiating.
Interment will follow at Mountain State Memorial Gardens near Gilman.
