Wanda Lea Moore

MOORE

Wanda Lea Moore, 88, a resident of Kingwood Healthcare Center and formerly of Valley Furnace, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Dec. 15, 2025.

Born Nov. 28, 1937, at Valley Furnace, Wanda was the beloved daughter of the late Howard and Louella (Huffman) Miller.

She was a woman of quiet strength, deep faith, and steady love, whose life was centered on her family and her church.

Wanda shared 68 loving years of marriage with her husband, Jesse Glen Moore, building a home rooted in commitment, kindness, and devotion.

A faithful member of New Hope Church, her faith guided her daily life and shaped the way she cared for others.

Wanda had a special gift for creating beauty with her hands. She loved sewing, especially making wedding dresses for those she loved, and was well known for baking wedding cakes that were as memorable as the celebrations they honored. Her talents were expressions of her love -- freely given, never seeking recognition.

Her greatest joy came from her family.

She is survived by her children, Michael Glen Moore and wife, Connie, and Glenda Lea Kines and, husband Tom; her grandchildren, Caleb Michael Moore and wife, Courtney, Kaitlyn Lea Jenkins and husband, Caleb, Olivia Patrick and husband, Brennen, Emily, Rachel, and Brittney Kines; and her treasured great-grandchildren, Lily Krider, Sophia Michele Moore, Bo Edwin Jenkins and Kinsey and Rawlings Patrick.

She is also survived by her sister, Pamela Kay Dumire and husband Ken; her brother, Paul Miller and wife, Betty; and several nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved.

In addition to her parents, Wanda was preceded in death by her sister, Rita Carol Wilson.

Family and friends will be received at Wright Funeral Home and On-Site Crematory, 220 N. Walnut Street, Philippi, on Thursday, Dec. 18, 2025, from 5 p.m. to 8p.m., and again on Friday, Dec.19, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Funeral services will be conducted from the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m., with Pastor Nick Bolyard officiating.

Wanda will be laid to rest in the New Hope Cemetery, a place she held close to her heart.
