Danny Lynn Golden

Mr. Danny Lynn Golden, 77, a resident of Belington, departed this life early Monday morning, Jan. 5, 2026, in the Davis Medical Center at Elkins. Death was following a period of declining health.

He was born Jan. 2, 1949, at Philippi, West Virginia, a son of the late Bruce and Omah Carder Golden.

He was twice married, first to Glenda Jean Golden, who preceded him in death, and second to Norma Weese, who also preceded him in death.

He is survived by one son, Robert Lynn Simmons and wife, Joyce, of Belington; and three step-daughters, Pauline Williams and husband, Steve, of Grafton, Paula McGee and husband, Tim, of Belington, and Paulette Small and husband, Ricky, of the Mt. Nebo Community; two half-brothers, John Roberson and Patrick Roberson, both of Ohio; and two sisters, Chris Bash and Amy Morrow, both of Cleveland, Ohio.

Additional survivors include several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to his parents and wives, he was preceded in death by his twin brother, David Lee Golden Sr.; and step-brother, James Roberson.

Danny attended the schools of Barbour County and was co-owner and operator of Golden's Roofing. He was a proud Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Vietnam War and he was a lifetime member of the VFW Laurel Mountain Post 410 in Belington. He loved to hunt and fish and gun trade with his friend, Bedford. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Friends will be received from the Talbott Funeral Home, 56 N. Brandenburg Street in Belington, on Friday, Jan. 9, 2026, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and again on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., the funeral hour, with the Pastor Johnny Paul Williams II officiating.

Interment will then follow in the Fraternal Cemetery near Belington, where full military rites will be conducted by the United States Army and the American Legion Post 96 of Belington.
