Deborah Theresa Winton Ritter

Deborah Theresa Winton Ritter, 64, a resident of Hambleton, West Virginia, departed this life Tuesday evening, Jan. 6, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her loving family and under the care of West Virginia Caring.

She was born Sunday, Dec. 31, 1961, at Oneida, New York, a daughter of the late Ernest Chester Winton and Theresa Nancy Durant Winton.

On Nov. 15, 1985, at Oakland, Maryland, she was married to Michael Lynn Ritter, who survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Kristin Nicole Thomas and husband, Evin, of Buckhannon; one sister, Diane Marie Polomski and husband, Joseph, of Hambleton; two grandchildren, Nolan Michael Thomas and Eden Joyce Thomas; one nephew, Wayne Helmick; one niece, Brittany Moore; and several in-laws.

Preceding her in death are one sister, Eileen Marie Moore; and one nephew, Joseph Alan Polomski.

She attended the First Baptist Church of Parsons.

Debbie was a graduate of Tucker County High School with the class of 1980.

She was a vice president and financial center manager for Citizens Bank of West Virginia. She had a storied 41-year career in banking and made a lasting impact on the lives of customers, employees, and the Tucker County community. She retired in July of 2025.

She had recently been awarded the Tuckineer Award by the Tucker County Chamber of Commerce.

She had previously served on the board of directors for the Tucker Community Foundation and the Tucker County Chamber of Commerce. She was a member of the Parsons Blueprint Community Team.

Debbie was a wonderful cook and enjoyed Sunday dinners with her family. She enjoyed shopping and reading and above all loved the time she spent with her family, especially the grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons from 1 to 3 p.m., Sunday.

Final Rites will be conducted at the funeral home, Sunday, Jan. 11, 2026, at 3 p.m.

The Rev. Cecil Hines will officiate and cremation will follow.

Inurnment will follow at Parsons City Cemetery at a later date.

The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of contributions to the Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center, 10 Medical Center Drive, Morgantown, WV 26505.
