Evid Eugene Miller

Evid Eugene Miller, 92, died Sunday, Jan. 4, 2026, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Buckhannon, West Virginia.

He was born June 13, 1933, in Buckhannon, a son of the late Evid Lloyd and Juanita Westfall Miller. On Nov. 19, 1958, he married Eunice Ellen Farnsworth, who preceded him in death on Nov. 12, 2003.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Geraldine Fullerton, Evelyn Sue Phillips and Mary Rexroad.

He is survived by one son, Brian Miller of Clarksburg, West Virginia; one daughter, Tammy Miller of Enterprise, AAlabama; one brother, O'Neal Miller of Hampton, West Virginia; several nieces and nephews, and friends, Ronnie Anderson, Lenny Lewis, Randy Chidester, and Chad Rexroad, all of Buckhannon.

Mr. Miller was a Well Tender and a Methodist by Faith. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Eugene loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. His prize catch was a 27-inch, 10-pound rainbow trout. Well known for his muzzleloader skills, he built many from scratch and even won several shooting competitions.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to his caregivers, Megan Kaine and Barb Riffle.

Friends will be received Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2026, from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Wease L. Day officiating. Burial will follow in the Hampton Cemetery in Hampton, West Virginia. The Upshur County Honor Guard will perform military honors at the graveside.
