Patricia Koon Craven
CRAVEN
Patricia Koon Craven went to be with our Lord on Jan. 7, 2026, after a long illness.
She was the wife of Floyd Wayne Craven, who preceded her in death, as well as a daughter, Janette Joyce Craven Johnson.
Surviving is her son, Jeffrey Wayne Craven and his significant other, Barbara C. Liebl, of Clarksburg, West Virginia; one brother, Robin L. Koon and wife, Betty, of Richmond, Virginia; one sister-in-law, Marjorie Craven Miles of Buckhannon; and many relatives.
Mrs. Craven attended the Buckhannon First Baptist Church prior to her illness.
Mrs. Craven was in the first graduating class in the Alderson Broadus BSN Department of Nursing. She was a nursing instructor at the St. Mary’s School of Nursing for a few years; from 1964 until retirement in 1988, she was a professor of Nursing at West Virginia Wesleyan College. Mrs. Craven did take a leave of absence from teaching to earn her Master’s in Nursing from the University of Pittsburgh. She enjoyed gardening, walking and taking care of her two now deceased cats.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, Jan, 13, 2026, from 11 a.m. until noon at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at noon, from the funeral home, with Rev. Brunty officiating.
Burial will follow in the Buckhannon Memorial Park in Buckhannon.
Family and friends are asked to wear protective masks and to avoid physical contact; those with upper respiratory illness please avoid attending.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to either The Alzheimer’s Association or the ASPCA.
