Mr. Roy Junior Bragg, 83, a resident of Belington, departed this life Sunday, Jan. 4, 2026, in the comforts of his home. Death was following a period of declining health.
He was born April 4, 1942 in Braxton County, West Virginia, son of the late Fred and Ava Pauline Godfrey Bragg.
Roy is survived by his two sons, Fred Bragg of Belington and Harry Shaffer and wife, Wanda, of Georgia; his two daughters, Tina Newlon of Belington and Julia Anderson of Philippi; and his former wife, Barbara Ann Lantz.
Additional survivors include two grandchildren, Michelle Blake and husband, Darin, of Belington, and Mary Clough and husband, Mat,t of Philippi; and a great-grandson, whom was his caregiver, Remington Poe of Belington.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Karen Post and Laura Bragg; four brothers, Gene Bragg, Troy Bragg, Darryl Bragg and Jackie Bragg; and two infant brothers at birth.
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Roy attended the schools of Upshur County and was protestant by faith. He was previously employed by Dingess Lumber and was an avid dirt track, NASCAR and sports fan. He was a big fan of Phil Jefferies, who drove the J4 and was also a huge fan of Team 56 Keene Racing, Whited Racing #28 N and Paugh Racing #03. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
To honor Roy, the family asks to please wear your racing shirts, either dirt track or NASCAR, during his visitation at the funeral home.

Friends will be received from the Talbott Funeral Home, 56 N. Brandenburg Street in Belington, on Thursday, Jan. 8, 2026, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
