Adaline ‘Addie’ Virginia Johnson Lawrence

She was born Thursday, Dec. 26, 1940, at Baltimore, Maryland, a daughter of the late Charles Walter Johnson and Lucille Ruby Kidwell Johnson.

On Aug. 2, 1958, she was married to Donald Gustave Lawrence, who preceded her in death Sept. 5, 1994.

Surviving are two sons, Charles Walter Lawrence and wife, Donna, of Georgia, and Donald Gustave Lawrence Jr. and wife, Darlene, of Maryland; three daughters, Donna Virginia Lawrence and companion, Harvey Giles, of South Carolina, Tammy Lynn Davis and husband, Jim, of Dryfork, West Virginia, and Linda Carol Lashhorn and husband, Mark, of Pennsylvania; 12 grandchildren, Ginger, Christina, Amanda, Timothy, Jessica, Jamie, Brandon, Mark, Melissa, Rachel, Savannah and CJ; 29 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death is one grandson, Nick Lawrence; five brothers, Charles, Donald, Marty, Lawrence “Larry” and Bobby Johnson.

She attended the schools of Baltimore, Maryland.

She was the wife of a Pastor, Evangelist and Missionary, and had traveled alongside her husband through his ministries, and had even taken a mission trip to Jamaica. She had previously attended the Parsons Church of God, until her health prevented her.

She enjoyed crossword puzzles, word search, crocheting, watching westerns and reading her Bible all while drinking her tea. She truly enjoyed talking with people and had a wonderful sense of humor.

The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons, West Virginia, on Friday, Feb. 13, 2026, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., the funeral hour.

Doug McKenzie and Timothy Lawrence will officiate.
