Neil Eugene White, 85, of Buckhannon, West Virginia, left this life peacefully, Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2026, at his home surrounded by his family to begin his eternal life in Heaven.
Mr. White fought a hard battle with pulmonary disease and chronic respiratory failure butakept his faith to the end in his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
He was born Jan. 10, 1941, in Adrian, West Virginia, a son of the late James Harold and Ruth Norman White.
He is survived by his soulmate, Linda Ward White, of Buckhannon; former wife, Donna White of Buckhannon; five children, Deborah Orsburn and husband, Randall, of Tallmansville, West Virginia, Brian White and wife, Melissa, of Clarksburg, West Virginia, Randall White and Tracy Hunt and husband, Davis, all of Buckhannon, and Christopher White and wife, Isabell, of Castroville, Texas; 13 grandchildren, Nathan Smarr and wife, Jessica, Caitlin Barnette and husband, Jason, Casey Hartsock and husband, Logan, Josh White and wife, Brooke Anna, Brandon White and wife, Melissa, Lauren Nolan and husband, Nick, Neil White, Sean White, Rachel Greer and husband, Josh, Hannah Hunt, Davis Hunt and wife, Bethany, Jason White and wife, Ana, and Logan Webster and husband, Sean; 19 great-grandchildren, Drew, Bre, Lucy, Payton, Delaney and Austin Smarr, Logan and Hayden Barnette, Riley and Cameron Hartsock, Emma and Maddie White, Maizie White, Luna White, CJ and Liam White, Winnie Greer and one on the way; two step-children, SD Ward and wife, Jenn,a and Sherri Propst and husband, Jeff; 11 step-grandchildren, Jared and Elayna Propst, Alexis, Kristen, Olivia and Abby Ward, Hailey and Austin Stahl, Josh Vasquez and wife, Jewels, and Emily and Melany Vasquez; four step-great grandchildren, Josh and Juliette Vasquez and Christian and Xavier Aviles; one sister, Pam Andrews and husband, Duane, of Buckhannon; and one sister-in- law, Nancy White of Buckhannon.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, James, Virgil and Lynn White; and one infant sister, Mary Alice White.
Mr. White served in the U.S. Marine Corp. during Vietnam. He was a member of Full Gospel Church in Buckhannon. Mr. White was happiest with his family around. He was dependable. Mr. White was the family’s storyteller. To all his grandchildren he was known as Dad-Dad. After retirement he enjoyed camping, riding his motorcycle and John Deere Tractor.
Mr. White was a proud Marine and will be missed by all.
Friends will be received Sunday, Feb. 8, 2026, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. on Monday, from the funeral home, with Pastor Chad Lewis officiating.
Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon.
The Upshur County Honor Guard will conduct military honors.
