Christopher Melvin ‘Chrissie’ Driscoll Jr.

DRISCOLL

Christopher Melvin “Chrissie” Driscoll Jr., 82, a resident of Elkins, passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at Autumn Lake Health Care of Crystal Springs where he had been a resident for 22 years.

He was born June 12,1943, at Oswego, New York. He was preceded in death by his mother, Beverly Jane Gagnon White; step-father, Claude White; and two brothers-in-law, Thomas J. Letvin and Michael L. Vance, also preceded him in death.

Chrissie is survived by two sisters, Dee Letvin of Lathrup Village, Michigan, and Karen Vance of Oak Park, Michigan; two nieces, Abbie Sack and husband, Kevin, and Samantha Letvin; and great-nephew, Lennon Sack; and many cousins.

Chris was special-needs and mentally impaired due to an accident at the age of six years old. He made friends with everyone he met. His best days were spent in Bemis, West Virginia, with his parents and extended family. He enjoyed going to the Bemis Community Church every Sunday where his joy was ringing the church bell and passing the collection plate.

After church, he enjoyed going to visit many family members at the campground in Bemis and enjoyed the many chicken roasts that were held.

Chrissie was a Catholic by faith. Our family would like to express our sincere gratitude to all the employees of Autumn Lake and the former Nellas’s Nursing Home who took such wonderful care of our brother.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until 10:50 a.m., Monday, March 23, 2026, at St. Brendan Catholic Church of Elkins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday from the church with Father Ed Tetteh as the Celebrant. Interment will be at the Mountain State Memorial Gardens where he will be laid to rest beside his parents, Beverly and Claude White.

In lieu of flowers, contributions, may be made to West Virginia Caring Hospice, P.O. Box 760, Arthurdale, WV 26520 in memory of Chrissie.
