Donald Glenn ‘Donnie’ Chenoweth
CHENOWETH
Donald Glenn “Donnie” Chenoweth, 86, a resident of Elkins, passed from this life Monday, March 2, 2026, at Pierpont Center at Fairmont.
Donnie was born in Elkins on Monday, Oct. 2, 1939, to the late John D. Chenoweth and Grace Weese Chenoweth Stalnaker. From an early age, he was raised by his step-mother, the late Mildred (Jackie) Chenoweth.
On April 27, 1962, he married the love of his life Lenore Eileen Riggleman Chenoweth. The had celebrated 63 years of marriage.
Left to cherish Donnie’s memory besides his wife, is one son, James Chenoweth and wife, Stephanie; two daughters, Karen Schoonover and husband, Ronald, and Shirley Daniels and husband, Danny; two grandchildren, Ronald Schoonover III and wife, Kristen, and Joseph Daniels; three sisters, Brenda West of Helenwood, Tennessee, Estelle (Tillie) Goldizen of Dailey, and Linda White of Canton, Ohio; two brothers, Gary Chenoweth of Charleston, and Bobby Allen Chenoweth of Junior; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Donald in death besides his parents, was his stepfather, Glenn P. “Pudge” Stalnaker; two sisters, Viola Higgins and Ida Ruth Swecker; and two brothers, his twin brother, Ronald Chenoweth and John R. Chenoweth.
Donald attended the schools of Randolph County and retired as a well-known brick and block layer. He was a member of the Randolph County Senior Center and AARP. He loved his antique cars which he would take to car shows and on drives in the country with his wife. He attended the Elkins Church of the Nazarene.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation will be honored with no services following.
