Eric Scott Pennington, 42, a resident of Parsons passed from this life Sunday, March 1, 2026, at his home. He had been in his usual health and death was unexpected.
Eric was born Sunday, Oct. 23, 1983, in Parsons, the son of Larry “Scott” Pennington and Kathleen Ellen Long Coberly.
Also left to cherish Eric’s memory is his paternal grandmother, Gloria “Cookie” Pennington Frame and husband, Marshall; uncles, Jeff Pennington and wife, Billie Jean, Kevin Pennington and wife, Kristen, David Pennington and wife, Loretta, and Frank Long Jr.; an several nieces, nephews, great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins and friends.
Eric was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Larry Pennington; and and his maternal grandparents, Franklin Willard Long Sr. and Ruth Rosella Pifer Long.
Eric attended the schools of Tucker County. He was working for Tucker County Landfill, which he really enjoyed. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and mud racing.
Visitation will be held at Hostetler Funeral Home on Monday, March 9, 2026, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., the funeral hour.
Interment will follow in the Long Family Cemetery at Otter Creek.
