Mr. Larry Ray Tallman, 78, a resident of Belington, departed this life Wednesday March 4, 2026, in the comforts of his home. Death was following a period of declining health.
He was born Dec. 30, 1947, at Belington, West Virginia, son of the late William Jennings and Helen Lenora Wright Tallman.
On Jan. 22, 1983, he was united in marriage to the former Bridget Neal Howell, who preceded him in death on July 27, 2020.
Survivors include three children, Angela Tallman of Belington, William Tallman and wife, Connie, of Buckhannon and David Tallman of the Audra Community; and one brother, Herman Tallman of Florida.
Additional survivors include five grandchildren, Lillianna Cleavenger, Devin Tallman, Hailey Tallman, Makayla Tallman and Chelsea Reed; and six great-grandchildren, Gavin Reed, Riley Reed, Elexa Reed, McKenna Isner, Tegan Graham and Gage Graham.
In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by three brothers, his twin, Gary Charles "Charlie" Tallman, Marvin Gerald Tallman and Denver Eugene "Gene" Tallman; and two sisters, Genevieve Louise Tallman Arbogast and Janet Carol Tallman Coulter Russell; and his lifelong friend, Dennis Horner.
Larry attended the schools of Barbour County and previously worked as a coal truck driver from which he retired. He loved hunting, fishing and gardening. He was an avid enthusiast of motorcycles and fast cars. He will be sadly missed by his friends and family.
Friends will be received at the Talbott Funeral Home, 56 N. Brandenburg Street in Belington, on Monday March 9, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at which time a funeral service will be conducted from the Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Johnny Paul Williams II officiating.
Interment will follow in the Fraternal Cemetery near Belington.
