Lorena May Wegman Huffnagel, 79, a resident of Beverly, passed from this life Thursday, March 19, 2026, at WV Caring Hospice Inpatient Center.
Lorena was born on Sunday, Sept. 1, 1946, in Elkins, a daughter of the late Ernest Wegman and Nellie Jane Herron Wegman.
On July 16, 1964, in Cleveland, Ohio, she was married to Michael "Mike" Huffnagel, who preceded her in death on March 6, 2014.
Left to cherish Lorena's memory are three children, Michael Huffnagel Jr. of Valley Bend, Bobby Huffnagel and wife, Kathy, of Elkins, and Cindy Postles and husband, George, of Beverly; two grandchildren, Megan and Amy Huffnagel; four siblings, Fred Wegman and companion, Dottie Raynes, of Elkins, Ernestine Sharp of Dailey, Mary Bennett of Pennsylvania and Josephine Barker of Elkins; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her parents and husband, Lorena was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward Scott and Raymond Scott.
Lorena attended the schools of Randolph County and Davis & Elkins College. She had worked as a salesclerk at Walmart.
During her younger years, she played and coached softball and was a member of the bowling league at Elkins Recreation Center for many years. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, and reading. She was a member of the Tygart Valley Baptist Church.
A graveside service will be held at Mountain State Memorial Gardens on Friday, March 27, 2026, at 11 a.m.
Pastor Jack Howell will officiate and interment will follow.
