Robert Earl ‘Bobby’ Oldaker
OLDAKER
Mr. Robert Earl “Bobby” Oldaker, 51, a resident of Belington, departed this life Friday evening, March 20, 2026, at his home. Although he was in declining health, death was definitely unexpected.
Bobby was born April 13, 1974, at Honolulu, Hawaii, a son of the late Robert Randel Oldaker and Sandra Kay Skidmore Golden, who survives at Belington.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his longtime loving companion, Tabitha Corley Shomo, who survives at their home in Belington; children, Allyssa Brooke Waybright and husband, Austin, of Belington, Kierston Nicole Shomo of Nitro, West Virginia, and Christian N. Shomo and companion, Heaven, of Elkins.
Additional survivors include a sister, Lori Tomey and husband, Paul, of Buckhannon; bonus mother- and father-in-law, Sandy and Eddie Corley; and grandchildren, Peyton Waybright, Walker Waybright and Sawyer Shomo.
Also surviving are nieces and nephews, Ashley Boley of Elkins, Sara Leggett of Belington and Ryan Jones of Elkins; as well as many bonus nieces and nephews, extended family and a whole host of friends.
In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Art and Evelyn “Tommy” Skidmore; paternal grandparents, Burl and Tonie Oldaker; a grandson, Infant Waylon Allen; and a stepfather, Dave Golden.
Bobby was a 1992 graduate of Philip Barbour High School, and was a protestant by faith. He was a true Rock-n-Roll music fan and loved to hunt. He loved to game, drink diet Dr. Pepper and spend quality time with his family that he truly loved. Bobby will most definitely be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Friends will be received at the Talbott Funeral Home 56 N. Brandenburg Street, Belington, West Virginia, on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and again on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m,. the funeral hour, when final rites will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with Pastor Johnny Paul Williams II officiating.
Interment will follow in the Lambert Chapel Cemetery near Belington.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Animal Friends of Barbour County, 320 Valley Bend Road, Belington, WV 26250 in memory of Bobby.
