Homer William ‘Homie’ Howell
HOWELL
Homer William “Homie” Howell, 43, a resident of Elkins, passed from this life Monday, April 6, 2026, in the emergency department of Vandalia Health Davis Medical Center in Elkins. He had been in his usual health and death was attributed to a major cardiac event.
Homer was born Monday, April 26, 1982, in Elkins, a son of Victor Stanley Howell and Evelyn Joyce Hamrick Howell, who survive in Beverly.
On March 11, 2023, he married the former Eugenia “Gigi” Moore, who survives at home.
Left to cherish Homer’s memory is one aunt, Louise Arbogast of Philippi; uncles, Conway Howell and Rex Howell of Beverly; and several cousins.
Preceding him in death were paternal grandparents, Homer Howell and Viola McCauley Howell; maternal grandparents, James “Bud” Hamrick and Lucille Welch Hamrick; one aunt, Gertrude Shreve; and two uncles, Beechard Howell and Bretsel Howell.
Homer was a 2001 graduate of Elkins High School. He had been employed at Food Lion, Walmart, Huttonsville Correctional Center and Seven Wellness in Elkins. Homer enjoyed fishing, attending antique car shows and assisting his wife Gigi with her artwork.
Visitation will be held at Randolph Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, from 2 p.m. Until 3 p.m.
The family’s request for cremation will follow.
