Mrs. Josephine Ruth Suder Kittle, 97, a former resident of Belington and more recently of the Mansfield Place in Philippi, departed this life early Thursday morning, April 9, 2026, in the care facility at Philippi. Death was following a period of declining health.
She was born Jan. 23, 1929, at Belington, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Elza Lee and Reta Mae Tenney Suder.
On Aug. 4, 1952, she was united in marriage to Keith Richard Kittle, who preceded her in death on April 29, 2003.
Left to cherish her memory are two children, Emma Jean Kyle and Jimmy Kittle, both of Belington.
A bonus sister, Dorothy Zirkle of the Hall Community; five grandchildren, Amy Pomp, Lisa Hunt, Derek Kyle, Melinda Williams and Delta Parks; and several great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren also survive.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two children, Betty Jo (Kittle) Weese and William Kittle; five brothers, Hartsel H. Suder, Wilbert Suder, Denver Suder, Omar Suder and Norris Suder; three sisters, Ethel Everson, Chloe Oldaker and Sylvia Everson; two sons-in-law, Jeff Weese and Jim Kyle; a daughter-in-law, Jill Kittle; and a granddaughter, Leslie Kittle.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Josephine attended the schools of Barbour County and was Protestant by faith. She was a homemaker and enjoyed canning, crocheting and talking on the phone. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Friends will be received at the Talbott Funeral Home, 56 N. Brandenburg Street in Belington, on Sunday April 12, 2026, from noon to 3:30 p.m., the funeral hour, when final rites will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with the Pastor Johnny Paul Williams II officiating.
Interment will then follow in the Concord Cemetery in Belington.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Concord Cemetery c/o Brian Poling P.O. Box 231 Belington, WV 26250.
