Katherine Faye ‘Kathy’ Flanagan

FLANAGAN

Katherine Faye “Kathy” Flanagan, 59, a resident of Belington, departed this life early Wednesday morning, April 1, 2026, in the United Hospital Center at Bridgeport. She had been in declining health but death was unexpected.

She was born March 13, 1967, at Elkins, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Paul Richard Flanagan and Linda Lou Wilson Flanagan, who survives at her home in the Kingsville Community.

Left to cherish her memory are her two sons, Vincent Paul Gibson of Mabie and Christopher Scott Gibson and companion, Kayla Arbogast, of Beverly; her companion, Chris McDonald of Belington; a brother, Michael E. Flanagan and wife, Regina; and a sister, Paula Jean Flanagan, all of Kingsville Community.

Additional survivors include numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, a whole host of friends and her K-9 companion, Willie.

Katherine attended the schools of Randolph County and was a graduate of the Coalton High School with the class of 1985. She was employed by the Randolph County School system as the head cook at Third Ward Elementary School in Elkins. She also was a part time employee at Par Mar Convenience store in Elkins. She was an avid animal lover and rescuer, she loved the outdoors, loved to fish and enjoyed canning. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Friends will be received at the Talbott Funeral Home, 56 N. Brandenburg Street in Belington, on Monday, April 6, 2026, from 6 to 8 p.m.

On Tuesday April 7, 2026, at 11 a.m., there will be a private family graveside service conducted from the Flanagan Family Farm with the Pastor Danny Linger officiating.

Interment will then follow.

In lieu of flowers the family request that contributions be made to Kathy’s Mini Farm to help keep her legacy alive through the love of animal’s c/o Chris McDonald 55 Scot Drive Belington, WV 26250.
