Ms. Pauline Louise Loar, 99, a resident of the Tygart Valley Health and Rehabilitation Center in Belington and formerly of the Talbott Road in Belington departed this life 5:16 p.m. Friday, April 3, 2026, in the care facility. Her death was following an extended illness.
She was born Oct. 27, 1926, at Belington, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Oscar B. and Ocie Tallman Durrett. On Aug 24, 1951, she was united in marriage to Earl Richard “Bus” Loar, who preceded her in death on Jan. 14, 2013.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Dorothy Thacker, Mary Ware, Jean Bunner and June Ware. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Survivors include numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and a friend and caregiver, Dotty Parsons, of Belington.
Pauline was a graduate of Belington High School with the class of 1945 and attended the Concord Community Church, formerly the (Concord United Methodist Church). She was formerly employed with Leo P. Ware and Son in Belington for many years as a chop saw operator from which she retired in 1994.
Pauline had a big heart and would do anything for anyone even if it took from her necessities. She loved her K-9 companions that she had over the years and will be remembered for her love and kindness.
Friends will be received at the Talbott Funeral Home 56 N. Brandenburg Street in Belington on Thursday, April 9, 2026, from 5 to 7 p.m. the funeral hour when final rites will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with the Pastor Jamie Andrews officiating. On Friday April 10, 2026, there will be a private interment in the Concord Cemetery near Belington.
The Talbott Funeral Home in Belington is in charge of the arrangements for Ms. Pauline Louise Durrett Loar.
In lieu of flowers it was her wishes memorial contributions be made to the Concord Cemetery c/o Brian Poling PO Box 231 Belington, WV, 26250.
