Raymond Richard Foreback 88, passed away peacefully with his family at his bedside on March 28, 2026. Born Nov. 6, 1937, in Valley Head, West Virginia, to Raymond and Una Pritt Foreback.

He attended Valley Head Elementary, Tygart Valley High School and West Virginia University. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Francis and Denna.

He is survived by his loving wife Nancy of 67 years and their three children, Pamela Foreback, Becky Fawbush (Mike) and Douglas Foreback (Pam); his brother, David Foreback (Sue); niece, Kyndra Tingler (David); niece, Beth Hebb (Kelly); niece Chris Mulcahy; uncle, Artie “Junior” Pritt in West Virginia; grandchildren, Steven Mayes, Jason Mize (Abbey), Maegan Patterson (Tristan), Meredith Foreback; and five great grandchildren Corri, Piper, Chance, Kinley and Pierce. Extended family grandchildren Ryan Fawbush, Elizabeth Meadows and Nathan Fawbush; and seven great-grandchildren.

Dick, as he was known by many started his career with Schick Electric Razors and then work in multiple drug store chains where he became vice president of marketing. He was a member of the Atlanta Track Club and ran in over 20 Peachtree Road races. He worked in the 1996 Summer Olympics in track and field. Among his favorite activities was fishing in the streams of the West Virginia Mountains and sitting on the beach watching his grandchildren play all day and seeing the sunset each evening.

Over the years, he coached and watched his children and grandchildren play a variety of sports. Always at the park showing his support. He enjoyed the outdoors whether it was gardening, fishing, golfing, walking the dog or just watching the birds.

He was known for always having a positive attitude and a constant smile on his face. He was a very social person and loved to get to know everyone he came in contact with; he usually left a lasting impression on people that would last a lifetime.

His legacy of faith, love, and dedication to family will continue to live on in the hearts of all that knew him. #Mountaineer Strong!

The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 3, 2026, from 2 until 4 p.m. at A.S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home & Crematory, 2773 N Decatur Rd Decatur, GA 30033.
