Mr. Samuel Burton “Sammy” Lawrence, 58, a resident of Belington departed this life Friday April 10, 2026, at his home. He had been in usual health but death was unexpected.
He was born Feb. 13, 1968, at Harman, West Virginia, son of the late Samuel David and Nancy Joan Vanscoy Lawrence.
Survivors include two brothers, Harlen Neil Lawrence and wife, Debi, of Clarksville, Tennessee, and John Paul Lawrence and wife, Monica, of Elkins. Additional survivors include several nieces, nephews, cousins and a whole host of friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James David Lawrence; and a sister, LaDonna Marie Lawrence.
Sammy attended the schools of Barbour County and was formerly employed as a maintenance worker for Autumn Lake at Nela’s at Crystal Springs.
He loved to ride ATV’s and was an Harley enthusiast and collected Harley memorabilia. He loved to watch TV and loved living a simple life. He will be sadly missed by his friends and family.
Friends will be received at the Talbott Funeral Home, 56 N. Brandenburg Street in Belington on Thursday April 16, 2026, from 6-8 p.m. Per Sammy’s request cremation will then follow.
