Virginia Sue Seibert, 86, of Philippi, passed away Monday, April 20, 2026, at Mansfield Place.
She was born August 6, 1939, in Bridgeport, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Harry Alfred Williams and Georgiana (Nicholson) Williams. On July 31, 1960, she married Richard C. Seibert Sr., who preceded her in death on Aug. 3, 2018.
Sue was a member of Elk City United Methodist Church. In her earlier years, she worked at Ace Hardware, where she met her husband, and later at Alderson Broaddus College in campus life. She was also active in the Shooks Run CEOS Club.
An avid bowler, Virginia bowled in Clarksburg and was a member of a bowling league. She enjoyed traveling and often accompanied her husband on his work trips, visiting places such as Hawaii, Las Vegas, Portland and Philadelphia. She was always willing to lend a hand on the family farm whenever needed.
Sue was a devoted caregiver to her daughter, husband, and sister. She faithfully attended her children’s events and was especially active in Special Olympics alongside her daughter, Deborah, participating in both summer and winter games and events throughout the year.
Sue is survived by her children, Richard C. Seibert Jr. and wife, Tammy, of Philippi, and James Bryan Seibert and wife, Candy, of Harrisonburg, Virginia. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Christopher Seibert and wife, Laura, of Mt. Crawford, Virginia; Steven Seibert and companion, Samantha Milbourne, of Morgantown; Olivia Seibert of Lexington, Kentucky, and Frankie Cox and wife, Cherith, of Rockingham, Virginia.
In addition, Sue is survived by her great-grandchildren, Elyse Sherfey and husband, Jacob, of Rockingham, Virginia; Sarah Cox of Rockingham, Virginia; and Luke and Helena Seibert of Mt. Crawford, Virginia; as well as great-great-grandchildren, Rowan and Jaxson Sherfey of Rockingham, Virginia.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Deborah Seibert.
The family will welcome friends at Wright Funeral Home and on-site Crematory 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Saturday April 25, from 1 to 3 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. with Pastor Rick Price officiating.
