Beatrice Louise Hinkle Kovach

Beatrice Louise Hinkle Kovach, 99, of Tallmansville, West Virginia, died Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at Serenity Care Home in Buckhannon, West Virginia.

She was born Aug. 19, 1926, in Queens, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Eddie and Eula D. Sloan Hinkle.

On Nov.16, 1947, she married George Kovach, who preceded her in death on May 6, 2008. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Elmer Hinkle; two sisters-in-law, Zana Lee Hinkle and Shirley Hinkle; and one brother-in-law, Donald Buckley.

She is survived by one brother, Eddie Junior Hinkle of Buckhannon; one sister, Delma Buckley of Greer, South Carolina; four nieces, Sherry Hess and husband, Bill, of Parkersburg, West Virginia, Kimberly Linger and husband, David, of Buckhannon, Lori Hoover and husband, Chris, of Arcanum, Ohio, and Tracy Bunger and husband, Doug, of Greenville, Ohio; and four great-nephews, Austin, Jace, Christopher and Patrick.

Mrs. Kovach retired from Steptoe & Johnosn in 1982. She previously worked for National Biscuit Company. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Clarksburg, West Virginia, since 1944. Mrs. Kovach was a member of the Wesleyan Service Guild and later the Sarah and Esther Circles of United Methodist Women; where she severed on various committees for both circles.

Friends will be received Sunday, May 31, 2026, from noon to 2 p.m. at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with Pastor Holly Hoover officiating. Burial will follow in the Lanham Cemetery in Queens.
