Danny Allen Barr

He was born April 16, 1955, in Elkins, a son of the late Leo Jackson Barr and the late Beryl Channel Barr.

On Oct. 15, 1994, in Elkins, he was married to Cynthia Ann Edmond, who survives at Inwood, West Virginia.

Also surviving are two sons, Joshua Barr, Oceana, West Virginia, and Justin Barr and wife, Sharon, Colora, Maryland; step sons, Scott Blizzard and wife, Traci, Martinsburg, West Virginia, and Chad Blizzard of Bradenton, Florida.

One daughter, Trista Barr, Inwood, West Virginia; a brother, Gary Barr, Elkins; a sister, Karen Betler of Catonsville, Maryland; four grandchildren and two great- grandchildren; and his beloved dogs, Raven, Dobby, Molly and Essie also survive.

Also preceding him in death was one son, Jeremiah Daniel Barr; and his faithful companion dog, “Walker.”

Danny attended the schools of Elkins and was a graduate of Elkins High School. He served in the United States Air Force and was a Catholic by Faith. Danny worked for many years in the construction industry, retiring as a supervisor.

Danny loved the outdoors, especially camping.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. until noon, Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins.

A funeral service will be held at noon on Tuesday, from the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Ann Fretwell officiating.

Interment will follow in the Mt. State Memorial Gardens near Gilman, where full military honors will be accorded at the gravesite by members of H.W. Daniels Post 29 American Legion and Tygart Valley Post 3647 Veterans of Foreign Wars.

The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements for Danny Allen Barr.
