David Lee ‘Dave’ Teter

David Lee “Dave” Teter, 76, a former resident of Elkins and a recent resident of Parsons, West Virginia, passed away Saturday morning, May 16, 2026, in the United Hospital Center at Bridgeport, West Virginia.

Dave was born April 14, 1950, at Elkins, a son of the late Raymond E. and Eunice Mae McClung Teter.

He was married to Arlene K. Kyle Teter, who preceded him in death Sept. 14, 2014.

Surviving is one son, Christopher A Teter and wife, Angie, of Hambleton, West Virginia; and one daughter, Sierra J. Teter and partner, Daniel R. Hebb, of Parsons, West Virginia.

Also surviving is one sister, Elizabeth “Libby” Peters and husband, Bob, of Seattle, Washington; a friend who was like a brother, Richard Canfield, and wife, Marion, of Elkins; and dear friend, Calob Vandevender, of Montrose; five grandchildren, Vivianna, Colton and Quinton Teter, all of Parsons, West Virginia, and Rowin and Harlin Hebb of Parsons, West Virginia.

Also preceding him in death were two brothers, Paul R. Teter and Earl E. Teter.

Dave was a former owner of Scotties Restaurant of Elkins. He drove bus for Randolph County Schools for 23 years, was the county Litter Control Officer for several years and retired from the Randolph County Sheriff’s Department after 26 1/2 years as a Process Server.

He was a member of Elkins Masonic Lodge 108 A.F. and A.M., Osiris Shrine of Wheeling, WV and the I.O.O.F. Lodge No. 116 of Elkins. Dave was a member of the First Baptist Church of Elkins.

Friends will be received from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 21, 2026, from the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Dave Snyder officiating.

Interment will follow in the Mountain State Memorial Gardens near Gilman.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, PO Box 31356, Tampa, FL 33631-3356 in memory of Dave.

The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements for David Lee “Dave” Teter.
