Gayle Moore

She was born Oct. 6, 1930 at McKeesport, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Richard H. Paul and the late Mildred Landis Paul. On Aug. 2, 1952, in Elkins, she married Richard W. âDickã Moore, who preceded her in death on March 23, 2026.

Surviving is one daughter, Shelley Seibert of Elkins; grandchildren Steven Seibert and Samantha Milbourne of Morgantown, West Virginia, and Olivia Seibert of Lexington, Kentucky; brothers-in-law, Robert âPopeyã Georgeson of Elkins and Robert Moore and wife, Joyce, of Morgantown, West Virginia; and a special family friend, Gary Moats.

Also preceding her in death was her son, Mark Moore; a sister, Neva Georgeson on April 20, 2026; and brothers, Richard Paul and wife, Nancy, and Charles Paul and wife, Alene.

Gayle was a graduate of Buckhannon-Upshur High School and received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Davis & Elkins College. She taught kindergarten at the Elkins YMCA and taught school at Homestead School and Elkins Junior High School.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church. Gayle was a Reach for Recovery volunteer, a volunteer at Davis Memorial Hospital and president of the Third Ward PTA. She enjoyed bridge clubs and golfing and was a member of the Elk’s Ladies Golf League in Elkins and the Ventura Country Club Ladies Golf Group in Orlando, Florida.

Gayle’s request for cremation has been honored. The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 p.m. Saturday, May 16, 2026, at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A joint service of remembrance for Gayle and Dick Moore will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 16, from the funeral home chapel. Robert Hermanson will officiate.

The family request contributions be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105; Randolph County Humane Society, PO Box 785, Elkins, WV 26241; or the Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church, 450 Randolph Ave, Elkins, WV 26241 in memory of Gayle.
