John Wayne Sharp, 63, of Conover, North Carolina, passed away unexpectedly on May 11 in Montrose.
John was preceded in death by his mother, Linda Wood Arbogast of Valley Head; his father, Robert Sharp of Saginaw, Pennsylvania; and his son, John Christopher Sharp of Conover, North Carolina.
He is survived by his son, Timothy Sharp of Huttonsville; his daughter, Stacey Sharp Munger of High Point, North Carolina; and his grandsons, Holden Alexander and Carter “Bill.”
John is also survived by his siblings, Larry Sharp (Carolyn) of Ripley; Bob Sharp of Elkins; Donna Sharp of Montrose; Alan Sharp (DeaVonda) of Morgantown; and Donny Sharp of Valley Head.
John was known for his good sense of humor, a strong work ethic and his passion for rebuilding anything with wheels, gears, or history. Whether it was golf carts, automobiles, campsites or anything in need of restoration, John poured his heart into bringing things back to life. He was a loving father, a devoted brother, and a loyal friend.
His happiest days were spent at his camp and cabin in West Virginia, surrounded by his family, working with his hands and enjoying the peace of the outdoors. John will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held at Randolph Funeral Home on Friday, May 15, 2026, from 11a.m. until noon, the funeral hour. Pastor Frank Stanley will officiate and interment will follow at Mingo Cemetery in Mingo.
